Manifest your idea
into the real world

Concept, design, prototype, and manufacturing support to realize your products.

Since 2002, Whitewater Product Design has helped some of the world’s most respected companies take their products from an idea to market. Our clients trust us because we make an effort to understand their business objectives, timelines and budgets. Our focus is to fully understand your needs, from component sourcing, to technical engineering, to manufacturing solutions to project management.

Concept Development

The initial phase of the product development process begins by generating new product ideas. This is the product innovation stage, where you brainstorm product concepts based on customer needs, concept testing, and market research.

Detailed Design

In the detailed design phase, the design team refines the embodiment of the concept and produces detailed specifications  for each part and assembly. This includes final specifications and details of part shapes, forms, functions, dimensions, surface finish, and material options. In addition to products, designs for manufacturing test equipment, merchandise packaging and literature are also created.

Engineering and Analysis

Engineering analysis applies scientific tools and principles to study characteristics of the system in order to predict performance, component failure and product reliability.

Prototype Build and Test

In the prototype phase, an initial model of the product is built and tested in order to evaluate the design. Prototypes are used to evaluate initial product usability, performance, reliability and aesthetics so that the design can be optimized. Prototypes are also used to demo to future customers and investors.

Manufacturing Transition

Transitioning a design to manufacturing involves component & assembly supplier selection, tooling development, facility bring-up, assembly process development and inventory planning. Typically this process starts during the design phase so that manufacturing partners can review the design in order to optimize it for manufacturability.

Patents and IP

Patent and IP are important because they help safeguard your product idea, business model and revenue. The design team typically works with clients to help prepare the necessary drawings and descriptions which will be submitted with a patent filing.
